Raffle Tickets

When you hold a raffle, you need raffle tickets to sell. A raffle is a game in which people buy raffle tickets with the chance to win a prize. Prizes are gathered to be raffled off. Most raffles are held to support charity events. For example, you want to have a fund raiser for your child's school. You might start by going around to local businesses and getting them to donate items for the raffle for which they can take a tax write off. Be sure to provide each person or business that donates something to your raffle with a receipt.

Raffle Checklist

Once you have gathered your items for the raffle, then it will be time to make a list of the items that will be offered as prizes at the raffle for the person that purchases the raffle tickets to see. At this point, you will also need to order your raffle tickets, and we are happy to help make your ordering process quick and easy. Once your raffle tickets arrive, you can disturbute them to the people that will be selling them in perhaps quantities of 20 raffle tickets per book. Your raffle ticket sellers will then take the raffle tickets and solicit their friends, neighbors and relatives to purchase the tickets in the interest of helping to raise money for your child's school.

Hang On To Your Stubs

When the seller of the raffle tickets makes a sale, they fill out the buyer's info on the ticket and hand the stub with matching number to the person who bought the ticket. You may also want to print on the ticket whether or not the person will need to be present to win the raffle if their number is drawn. In the interest of selling more tickets, we recommend that you do not require that the winner be present and let them know you will contact them at the phone number they have provided if their name is drawn. Also make sure your raffle ticket sellers are provided with a list of prizes. People will want to know what they're purchacing a chance to win.

The Day Of Your Raffle

The raffle will have a set date on which it is held. If the raffle is for your child's school, you can make an event of it. The prizes are gathered and displayed on a table. Once the raffle begins, all the raffle ticket stubs that have been turned in go into a large bucket from which the winning tickets are to be drawn. As the tickets are drawn, the winning number is called out and the prize winner comes forward to collect their prize, or if the prize winner is not present, is contacted after the raffle for notification that they won a prize.
